Comical Reference

I know you need some more librarian comic-y-goodness, so here you are (thanks to Bill Barnes of Unshelved for this tip). There are also a couple other librarian-themed episodes linked at the bottom of it.

So, do you think Nancy Pearl is flattered or offended at this use of her likeness?

Heh, heh, it kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it? I read two other, different comics that are this same style--known as "fumetti" (Italian word for smoke, referring to the use of speech balloons)--which means photographic comics, often using action figures. I had idly wondered at times if they could get royally sued for such activities. But Toyfare, a magazine that regularly provides action figure price guides, has had a similar comic running in it for years with no apparent problems: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twisted_ToyFare_Theater
(And I sincerely hope that they continue--it's quite funny!)

Hi! I read the comments on this post, and I thought I'd ask her. She said she found them very amusing, so she doesn't seem to be offended. I suppose anyone who would be the model for a Librarian Action Figure With Shushing Action would have a sense of humor about it.

I'm glad you like my comic enough to link to it! Thanks! :-)
